Anything but nibs

At Anything But Nibs students were encouraged to make marks on a variety of papers that were supplied.

We used the following objects to make marks:

• different sized cardboard packing and tubing
• string wrapped around card
• polystyrene in blocks
  
• mini cotton reels and wooden blocks
• balsa in various forms
• ‘coke’ pen
• ruling pen
• charcoal

Most students brought other tools as well. Ink and gouache were the main liquids used.

Two texts were provided and many interesting effects were obtained.

It was an interesting and inspiring workshop and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon.
